The Joint, Las Vegas, Nevada
Opening band: New American Shame
Awesome! They sounded like they never stopped playing together. Well balanced, and
TIGHT. All orginal lineup including Duffy, Astbury, Sorum and the rest. Opened with
Lil' Devil, finished with Love Removal Machine other songs I remember
were: She Sells Sanctuary, The Witch, Sweet Soul Sister,
Edie (Ciao Baby), Revolution, Wild Flower, Sun King,
Fire Woman. Songs they definitely did NOT play: (2 of my top 5 favorites)
Real Grrrl, Wild Hearted Son. They were so good, I'm flying to
Los Angeles to catch this Thursday's show. Wooohooooo!

Love your page and appreciate all the time you put into it. I have been lucky
enough to see the CULT twice this tour, both shows were amazing. The Denver show
was more intense because of all the moshing but by the last half of the Vegas show
people were getting really crazy even more so than in Denver. I flew into Vegas
late Sat. afternoon and immediatly went to the Hard A Rock Hotel to get my ticket.
I got it and went to gamble and sure enough Billy was standing talking to group of
people. I went up introduced myself and chatted for a few minutes. He was extremly
nice and told me they are having a great time on the tour and tonight will be great.
I then went to gamble until show time. They came out just like the Denver show the
crowd was going nuts. They played the same set as previous shows. The crowd was
singing through every song but not much moshing. Ian then started to ask everyone
to show their emotions and the last four songs and the 2 encores people did. During
She Sells Sanctuary the crowd was like a huge jumping moshing pit. By the last
encore it was complete chaos people running on stage and diving into the crowd it was
awesome. Can not wait until the next album. I do not understand how The Cult do not
get more props from the media they are in my opinion the most energetic great sounding
band of my generation. I hear bands like limp biskit or kid "idiot" and they do not
even compare. No heartfelt meaning in their lyrics at all "I did for the NOOKIE" I
mean come on guys, get a brain. Anyways hope you all get to see them soon.

The Cult rocked the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. The songs were a great mix of their
stuff that had the crowd moving, especially when the band played the tunes from Electric
and Sonic Temple. But when they played She Sells Sanctuary the place went wild...
Unfortunately some guys did start acting like jerks jumping up on the stage and trying
to surf but Ian gave them a quick tongue lashing and everyone seemed to stay under
control. Hopefully the Cult will release a live CD off of this tour cause I know it
would be awesome! I had a chance to meet Matt after the show and he was friendly and
excited about the kick ass gig they'd just put on. Even though Jamie Stewart's not with
the band this is a great lineup that really played to the crowd and made the whole night
the best performance of the 4 that I've seen.
