I just saw the show last night. The last time I saw the Cult was in '95 right before
they broke up. This show was awesome! The light show was great and Ian's voice was
really strong. They are going strong and I loved it.

The KC show was unbelievable. From what Ian said, the show was almost cancelled.
The venue had lost electricity which prevented the opening bands from playing.
They brought in generators for sound check and from what I could tell, power was
then restored. The band came out one by one and proceeded to tear the place apart.
The guys seemed to be having a great time, laughing and smiling the entire set.
It was nice to see Billy addressing the crowd. He and Ian seemed to be getting
along famously. Highlights for me included The Witch in which Martyn kicked
the coolest groove possible. New York City was intense, whipping the crowd
into a moshing frenzy. My favorite part was directly before the last song of the
evening. Apparently, someone had been screaming at Billy for Zap City the
entire night. So what does he do? Billy acknowledged the guy and then ripped off
the opening riff to it! The crowd went crazy. A great moment I'll never forget.

I've wanted to check out a Cult show since the mid eighties and last Friday I got
the opportunity to do so. Great show, lots of energy and the music kicked ass.

It was a great concert, when it finally started at 10:30pm. According to Ian
(the first person to mention any reason for the delay), the power supplying the
theater wasn't adequate and The Cult had to quickly rent some generators. I'm glad
they did, they really rocked. It was well worth the wait, considering we arrived
at 7:50pm.

First of all I want to acknowledge "NEW AMERICAN SHAME". Those guys put up with a
bunch of shit when it came to the sound system and lights. They really are very good
and can generate good times overload. I saw THE CULT at Alpine Valley and considered
it a warm-up and a test of the waters, so to speak. I then had a chance to capture
them in Kansas City along with two other CULT children from Minneapolis (Jammer &
Sandy). Ian was in top form and really linked up with the overwhelming crowd crushed
into the small venue. Billy was grinding out all the riffs and both he and Ian were
climbing the speakers and look to be having a wonderful time. I was located on the
right side of the stage where the music seemed very crisp and clear, however, Jammer
and Sandy told me after the show that the music seemed very distorted up in the
balcony sections. I would not recommend this establishment for another show. The
playlist included The Witch and In The Clouds and mostly everyone's
favorites. Some people that I talked to after the show were hoping to hear cuts
from Ceremony and even Dreamtime. The dress code for the group has changed somewhat,
gone are the leathers and cowboy boots that the band has been known for, and
replacing them are new high tech sneakers and pull string pants worn by Ian. Billy
has been wearing dark coarse jean pants and jacket with heavy black boots. I think
Matt was wearing leather pants, but I'm not sure, all were dressed in black. Ian
said in Chicago at the House of Blues that the reason there was this change in
wardrobe was because of the year 2000 and the coming milenium. I wore my leathers
as did several others, but most of the crowd wore scaled down clothing, such as
shorts and t-shirts. All in all, a very nice show and all in the band really poured
their guts out for the gathering. Now it's on to Minneapolis with Jammer and Sandy at
The QUEST.

I would like to take a moment to share one of the greatest shows i have seen. It was a
warm summer evening with the show being delayed an hour or so, but was definately worth
the wait. This concert was one that will stay with me for many years to come. The power
that the whole group had on the fans was amazing. they definately had their shit together
that night. It was a very strong show. the lights and sound were outstanding, with Ian
taking it to the limits. the crowd was definately into it, beer cans flying, people
jumping and groving, and lots of beer consumption. the vendors ran out of beer but didn't
really matter to anyone i think. the songs were hard and to the core with the band
looking as good as I've seen them. I saw lots of smiling from the band and it looked
like they were really enjoying themselves. Many of you out there think that they shouldn't
come back to this venue, wheras I think they should play more of these types of concerts.
The atmosphere is a close one where everyone can see the band and be up close to them. Just
like everyone else, I like to be as close as possible. there were many different kinds of
people there from suits to rockers. everyone was rockin together, pretty cool. the show
was one to definately to remember.
