The day had taken an age to come, would I really see my idol this
close in such an intimate atmosphere? After the break up The Cult I
was devestated to say the least but the arrival of The Holy Barbarians
in Tunbridge Wells proved all is not lost. While playing most of the
current Cream album, of which Space Junkie and Bodhisvatta
sound most 'Cult like' we were treated to The Witch and
Wildflower which gave the audience a chance to freak out at
last and get a reminder of the old days. We were also treated to seeing
Vic Reeves, one of Britains top comics make a complete idiot of himself
singing a duet, namely Wildflower, with an equally pissed Ian.
It was at this stage that I climbed on stage and told Ian 'I loved him'
in which he responded 'I love you too man' hey it's only Rock and Roll
after all!! Not quite The Cult but it will do until Ian and Billy
kiss and make up for one last tour, better make it quick before they
are past it!
