Opening Band: Rehab

I caught Ian and the boys at The Varsity, Wolverhampton, UK on October 16th and they were great. I think my girlfriend and I were the only ones who had heard the LP judging by the audience's reaction though! The bass player got pushed into the crowd by Ian (who was feigning an upper-class accent at the time) and sulked off stage for a while. Wild Flower was one of the encores and the audience had just about woke up by then. The venue was a small upstairs room in a pub and Rehab were the support band.

This gig was not to be missed, The Cult had been of the scene for a couple of years and I had not got a clue were Astbury and co were? I found this gig advertised by chance, bought the LP, the venue its self was a room above a pub holding about 200 people max, it was sold out and cost about 3 quid Astbury was brilliant and it took me back to when i saw The Cult in 1987/89/91 era the final track of the gig was Wild Flower but this was the only Cult track after this gig i heard no more of Holy Barbarians, until i found this web site jon martin - jonboy@cocacola16.freeserve.co.uk
