No, The Cult played an excellent show in Copenhagen. It was a loud, hard
rocking kick-ass show, and definitely one of the best concerts I've ever been
to. Coming Down (Drug Tongue) was a little tame and the boys (except for
Scott who was practically naked) were dressed up for an expedition to the North
Pole. And it was a cold November day but still.... Anyways, that's all the
bad stuff I have to say about that concert. Well, I sure didn't like Ian's
pigtails and I miss their long hair - but that's it.
The audience was a mixed lot. I saw T-shirts and tour jackets with everything
from Pink Floyd, Bryan Adams and Sisters of Mercy to The Black Crowes, Danzig
and Paradise Lost - plus obviously tons of Cult T-shirts. We were all there
from alternative fans to metalheads like my friend and I, aged 16 to 40, and we
rocked along with the band.
As I said, The Cult played a great show. New as well as old songs were played
with heart and emotion. Surprisingly enough, songs like The Phoenix had been
added to the bill, and my friend who finds Cult albums pre-"Sonic Temple" pretty
boring loved it all. So did I, and I can't wait to see The Cult live in action
again. Keep it rocking and please come back real soon.
