Neue Welt, Berlin, Germany

This concert was in course of an 3-days-MTV-event and not very well announced. By chance we heard about it and got some cards from a friend working at Huxley`s with the lights. It seems there was a huge (MTV-)guestlist or respectively there were many concerts that night and many people had a general passport for these days. However, many people didn`t even know the Cult but just went there for they came in for free and perhaps thinking they were something special... (grrrr.). We heard people discussing what to do after the show - going to a boygroup-concert (incredible but true). So this was the audience... When the Cult came in making their way right through the audience we didn`t even recognize them at first. I remember Ian wearing a flocati-coat, half-long hair plaited, the others looked more unspectacularly. On stage Ian was so angry about MTV, he titled them "Motherfuckers", talked ībout "bullshit" so on. What a pity, I was so glad to see them performing again. Billy was also angry: I stood right in front of him and saw he was not very happy with his guitars. It seemed to me as if they were not tuned out right (I couldnīt hear that)- He was really pissed with it and had several argues with some guys. I remind them playing Star, Black Sun, Universal You, Edie (Ciao Baby). By the way, the last album was excellent, not better than Sonic Temple but definitively of equal importance (for me). It sounds more unique than Sonic temple and in every case more unique than Ceremony. wonderful strong lyrics and clear straight riffs, it really love it. Please come soon!!!
