Gartejo, Lisbon, Portugal
The venue was a small club with a tiny stage that had room for approximately 300
people. Very few tickets were issued to the public (if any) and I got mine through
a friend that works in a radio station. As I was standing in line to get in with my
wife and 3 other friends, Ian and Billy passed us by and waved in a very casual way.
The concert itself was fantastic, specially if you consider that I was standing 5
feet from Ian :-) and I still have 2 shreds of his scarf to prove it!!! The guys
played for about one hour and went backstage for an unusual amount of time while
the crowd kept on cheering and calling them to get back. Finally, Ian came up on
stage and explained that the drummer had sliped on the steps, and was bleeding from
a head injury and they had to take him to the hospital!!!! It was a pity, but I
really couldn't complain, after all it had already been one of the best concerts
I had ever attended!!!
