Paramount Theatre, New York, New York

Opening Band: Lenny Kravitz

I took a train to New York and saw Neil Young at the Beacon Theatre the night before. The day of the Cult show I was shopping in Greenwich Village and I ran into Ian and his girlfriend in a shop. We were the only poeple there so Ian and I chatted while his girlfriend shopped. He was really nice and I was a bit star-struck, which usually doesn't happen to me :) I told him I had come down from Toronto to see his show and he said that was cool. We talked quite a while, but I honestly can barely rememeber what we said :):) I got good seats for the show, the Paramount is in the same facility as Madison Square Gardens and it's pretty small. It was full because Lenny Kravitz was almost as big as the Cult in New York at the time. The Cult played a great show and did a long encore. They stuck mostly with Ceremony and Sonic Temple stuff. They played a few songs from Electric saving Love Removal Machine for the encore. This was the last time I saw the Cult. They were planning a big Canadian tour for The Cult, but they broke up before that came to be... :(
