Opening for: Metallica

It was really exciting to see the Cult opening for Metallica, since it added credibility to the Cult as a "metal" band, which is what I envisioned them as from the second I heard "Electric." Although songs like Fire Woman, Edie (Ciao Baby), and Sweet Soul Sister would make the Cult superstars in the eyes of both hard rock and mainstream audiences, I remember the crowd being fairly indifferent to the Cult's set. As a result, the Cult didn't turn in their most comfortable performance, but I was sure getting off on it though. It was awesome to see them play New York City, Wild Flower, Lil' Devil, and Love Removal Machine live for the first time, and I liked the Cult even more after the show.
