Opened for Metallica

I went to college in Philly and regularly saw shows at the Spectrum, a mid sized arena in South Philly. I was in college at the time and The Cult were opening for Metallica at the time. I wanted to see The Cult, all my college buddies were big Metallica fans. I don't remember the songlist at all, but I do remember the Metallica fans being real assholes to Ian the whole set. Giving him the finger and booing etc. I think it was their last song and they were in the middle of Love Removal Machine when Ian got so pissed off he went after a guy in the front row and a big melee ensued, while Matt Sorum finished the song on vocals. They ended up dragging Ian backstage and that was the last song of the set.
