Within the confines of a darkly lit Convocation Hall, a crowd eagerly awaits
Asters & Co. whilst suffering through the uninspired sounds of opening band
"39 Steps". Nevertheless, the audience were rewarded with the opening strains
of
Love followed by the monumental Gothic Rock masterpiece that is
Nirvana. Surprisingly, the lads also included two tracks from the yet
unreleased
Peace album, we drowned in the chorus soaked
Electric Ocean
and grooved to the heavy-bass oriented sounds of
Love Removal Machine. The
dramatic backdrop of the Native Indian Icon [from the Sanctuary single] has
permanently imprinted itself in my mind. I look forward to seeing the lads open
up a full frontal assault of spritually driven rock in the Summer of 1999 - Hail to
the return of THE CULT! Cheers, Joe
