Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, Claro Hall
It was fantastic. The same set list of the São Paulo 12/07/06 show. It was
great to hear live performances of songs such as Wonderland, The Phoenix
and Electric Ocean. Billy and Ian were great, full of energy and delivering
their usual high voltage rock. John Tempesta gave us a cool performance too,
hitting hard at the drums. At one moment of the show, Ian taunted the crowd
(he thought the people were a bit too quiet, I guess) by imitating Jon Bon
Jovi, and people laughed and booed at the same time (someone threw a plastic
bottle at him, but he dodged it just in time). No other particular incidents,
only a great and memorable experience as all other three Cult shows I had the
opportunity to attend. Very exciting.

They spend a long time to start the show.
I can understand the reason... The place was very empty at 10 p.m (scheduled
time)
A girl who came to the venue very early said they played a part of "one" from
U2, in the soundcheck. I can't confirm it.
If i do remember well (i was a little drunk) the band start the show at 10:40
Some roadies ascended to the stage and they got many "boos" from the audience
When the first guitar riffs sounded, after a playback music (some kind of opera thing...someone tell me that is from starwars... others said its from "A
Clockwork Orange") the public going crazy... It was Lil Devil. The set list is
the same from other shows on this tour.
the only difference is the last musics... they changed the sequence...
Ian's voice was good, in spite of three nights singing... He seems very crazy
that night... if you know what i mean
In the begining... after to play two musics... He asked the public:
- hallo, Rio de Janeiro!... Is it Rio de Janeiro, right? Its not Plaza, New York?
I dont know if he was really joking... lol
The band (Ian specially) didn't interact too much with the public that night.
Billy didn't talk a word... except to speak Ian's name, at the band presentation, in the final of the show.
In a Show that i saw, last time they came Here (2000) they interacted more with the public.
But who cares about talking? I was there to ROCK, and they give me a lot of ROCK N" ROLL!!!
Some funny facts in the show:
Ian was a pissed of with the frozen audience (some of us, like me, was "ELECTRIC",
but theres many like statues...) and he said: -I think you are fans of Bon Jovi...
So, He sang a part of the hit of bon jovi: "You give love a bad name"... in a depravity way...swinging, etc...lol
In another ocasion, between the songs, somebody launch a letter in a envelope at
the stage.
Ian kneel at the floor, take the envelope, read the cover words and says:
"beautiful words, thanks"...
so he put carefully the envelope at the floor, near the loudspeaker.
Someone launch a cap AT him... (not To him) and he deviate of the cap...
and looks smiling to the guy who launched it.
Three times He (Ian) spit water in the audience...
He filled up his mouth with the water and spits to the high... I was very close,
and i felt the water soaking me all the time. Pehaps he did this because the people
was asking for water all the time he gets the bottle...
The song that he sang more fervour was the contested (in Brazil) "wonderland".
He dedicated the song to somebody that i couldn't identify (somebody told me that
was a dead manager of the band) He gesticulated all the time trying to
make the brazilians understand the lyrics...
Another great moment: the people in the front of the stage (including me) shouts
all the time between the musics:
"PEACE DOG" "PEACE DOG"... So, Ian came very closely to us, and said: "NOT YET", balancing the forefinger...
I loved this...
Another: He put the Mic in the mouth of a guy near me... I don't remember in
what music was it...
I already knew, from the guys in SP and from Jay (here at forum), that will be
some "after show bracelets"...
so, I was anxious, waiting for this...There was, really. I saw the roadie passing
very fast with a lot of them...
but nobody knows where he distributed !!! what a fuck!
it was orange plastic bracelets, with the sector of the audience wroten...
I saw only ONE girl with a bracelet after the show.
After the went out of the stage, me and some friends (girls) from the "cult brasil" community
was trying to talk to the security to go to the backstage... but they (security)
said the guys from the band said "ONLY PEOPLE WITH BRACELETS CAN ENTER" So, a
little sad, cause i really wanted a picture and a autograph, i quit.
At the parking lot, going to the car, i saw the vans that will take the band to
the hotel... there ws three white vans... with many securitys near them. theres no fan, cause it was at the local that they put packages of the mall.i thought about to wait them there, but i have no hope after the "brcelets incident"...
Today (thursday) i saw that a guy who did this (wait in the parking lot) got a
picture with Ian AND the name of the hotel...
the next day he went to the hotel and took more pics... I WILL CRY!!!
so, i come back home listening to the Boston Show in my car. mazing like they interacted a lot with the public in that venue...
( many times complaing that they are like statues...lol)
