Hello, congratulations for this homepage to one of my favourite fans. I was yesterday i
Barcelona and it was a real good concert.
The setlist was the same and in the same order than sunday in Madrid. You can repeat it.
The concert started at 22:00 hrs. The official hour were 21:30 but at this hour there was
lots of people taking his tickets, and i think the organisation prefered to retard this half
an hour for give us the time to entry in the venue.
Razzmataz is a discotheque used also for concerts (1 or 2 every week). His capacity is
2000-2500 i think, and yesterday was completely full. (The cult have always a great fans in
Catalunya, and the last tour presenting Beyond good and evil not passed for our country, therefore
we were hungry for to see them live again.
They play with very rocker attitude, and the crowd participated singing and jumping song by song,
especially with great hits like Lil' Devil, Wildflower, Love removal machine, and Fire Woman.
The entry of Rain supposed the climax of the concert, with all the people gived, arms up, singing
all the lines and the band really happy with this great answer.
Billy were most expressive than is usual. They presented some songs, speak to the audience sometimes,
and replicate Ian when he speaks about foot and the next mondial results (of course England will
win, he said).
Only a tecnical problem with Billy's guitar pedals, supposed a little disadvantage, during the
playing of In the clouds, bothering him, and he need to play second half of the song without effets.
This tour bassist and drummer make a very professional work, and they enjoyed yesterday really with
the catalonian people. They have time to play a little solos in The Phoenix, and also they make a
brilliant job in the first lines of The Witch.
The second guitar plays also good in the rythm guitars, and give to Billy the opportunity to
concentrate in solos, and make a more baroque riffs than in the tours when they played guitars
alone.
The feeling between Billy and Ian of course where one of the most remarcable in long time i have seen.
They gesture with complicity some times, specially in the unplugged interpretation of Edie (Ciao baby)
when the other members leave the scenary, givin the protagonism to they two and the acoustic Billy's
guitar.
I really enjoy this concert, but i only have a little complain to the band for to have forget Nico,
Sun King and New York City, who are between my best loved songs of the band, and specially for to have
forget completely the disc The cult, who had remarcable songs like Star, Black Sun, Be Free and Sacred
life.
A time of 80 minutes is short for the great fans of the band, and we can be better awarded with 4 or
5 songs more, and a playing time passing the 100 minutes, especially people like me, who need to drive
more than 150 kms from my city to Barcelone, and to pay more than 90 euros including the ticket, the
gasoline and the prize of the freeway.
Despite this, sure i returnered to make this displacement every day for to have the opportunity to
attend a concert with the intensity and feeling that the one of yesterday's. Songs like Rise, Rain and
Electric ocean make me very happy and compensated me for the long time i have waited this day, before
the last concert in Barcelona in middle 90's.
Thanks for this magic night and please don't wait other 10 years to return.

Cult children filled up Razzmatazz, a venue which holds up to 2500 people.
There were many followers on the balconies, on the front and back rows...
Everywhere. Just as The Cult should have desired and as some pessimistic
ones would have never expected.
The band came out 15 minutes after initially scheduled, not too delayed. The
main track off the 'A clockwork orange' soundtrack sounded as the
introduction to the performance, which started off with a thunderous 'Lil'
devil', which everybody in the audience chorused to and sang along.
'Sweet soul sister' followed and again, was received with pleasure. Drummer
John Tempesta showcased all of his talent and gifts and showed why he's
currently the best option behind the skins.
It was basically a 'big hits' gig packaged with many of the well-known songs
and singles from all Cult albums, except for the self-titled's. Especially
well-received was 'Spiritwalker', not to mention 'Fire woman' and the
anthemics 'Wild flower' and 'Love removal machine'. They even played
'Wonderland' an underrated gem which sounded incredibly good, with Duffy
soloing along.
For the encores, the played a truly nice version of 'Phoenix' and the must
'She sells sanctuary'.
Duffy was at his best, only having a couple technical problems with his amps
and pedals. Ian did a good performance but maybe not his best. His voice was
not too clear at times but he did overall a good performance. Nevertheless,
he was dancing and running all the time and I think that waste of energy
could affect his voice some times. Still, very enjoyable. Mike Dimkitch
supported Duffy's sound very tight and Chris Wyse reminded me a lot of
Kinley Wolfe -my favourite Cult bassist ever-. John Tempesta is, again,
incredible -his credentials as a drummer for Rob Zombie and Testament,
amongst many others, showed-.
It was a great night, only blackened by a few people pushing around and not
showing any respect for other followers in the audience.
Billy and Ian even showed their abilities as soccer players and the latter
kicked a ball to the audience.
Let's hope The Cult will share some new stuff with us real soon.
