Houston, Texas, Warehouse Live

My girlfriend and I went to The Cult show Saturday night in Houston, Texas at The Warehouse Live and it was fuckin’ GREAT! When we got there, we stood in a long line and drank a few beers - thanks to Arcadia and Slash “the bucket”, our newly acquire friends. The line went very fast once the doors opened and I can’t say enough good things about The Warehouse Live. It was fantastic! Everything was top notch and state of the art. This was my 4th time (1995 to this show) to see The Cult and my girlfriends 1st (she has now been officially sucked in) and I do believe it was the best so far. They came out about an hour or so late but they made it up in the show. Ian, Billy and the guys sounded tight the whole night and the new drummer (John Tempesta) was awesome. The whole show was great but the highlights of the evening for me were Wonderland (reworked), Edie (Ciao Baby), She Sells Sanctuary, Spiritwalker and of course Love Removal Machine. Billy also cleared up the fact that he and Ian actually do get along and all those rumors were just bullshit. Hopefully this will mean more Cult in the near future. Before the concert began, I paid in advance for the Instant Live CD (2 CD set) of the show which was ready 10 minutes after the show (which was right on time) and I highly recommend it. There is nothing like driving down the road and jamming to the live Cult show you just saw. It seemed like a very small world when we met some guys (John and Jason) from Birmingham, Alabama-where I’m from. When the show ended, we were walking to our car when we decided to walk over towards the tour bus and I’ll be damned if we didn’t get to meet Ian, Billy, Mike and John! They were cool as hell! They signed autographs and chatted a few minutes with everyone before heading to Austin, Texas. It didn’t get much better than that. Oh…I also asked Billy Duffy about the movie (Sin Jin-Smyth) he was supposed to be in and he told me that he was only doing the music for it.

I Went to The Cult show in Houston it was unbeleivable and the vevue was great. 3 of us drove 9 hours to show one without a ticket and picked one up outside show for reasonable $100.00. This was one of the best concerts i have ever been to. I was really expecting alot from these guys and beleive me they delivered. I picked up the CD as well and its great. If you miss this tour God help you!
