Ian during the show once again encouraged everyone to do what ever they wanted and exercise some individuality.

So seeing as the crowd was a little tame during most of the show, I decided to give Ian and the boys something back. During She Sells Sanctuary which was the last song of the night. I entered the pit which was going off by now. Centered myself with the stage and asked for a boost up, (thanx to the guy who lifted me), and within seconds surfing was in effect. I got pushed to the stage but kicked off back into the crowd as a bouncer was getting wise to my devious scheme ... TO GET ON STAGE ... (same as I did in the DVD show, which we will see if I'm in next month..)... anyway after a few more seconds of surfing...got pushed back to the stage but could't get on ...bouncer mayhem ensued...Ian took note of the scuffle and as I was being escorted to the stage door..He walked up, looked at me with a great sign of respect, and handed me his TAMBOURINE...no fucking kidding..maybe it was b/c I had a Union Jack flag shirt on..well if that's not enough it gets better.......as I was being escorted out of the building..quite unpleasently....you know "the brain dead haven't gotten laid for a year mentality" of bouncers..they were about to fuck me up in other words...An angel stopped the whole ordeal...I think his name is Tony from previous posts...the cults tour manager...he stopped the bouncers , told them to let me go...yelled at them...asked me if I was o.k. .....during this time I was in a hallway between the venue and the street...with the door closed to the venue.....the bouncers did not want to let me back in....Tony yelled at them again "OPEN THE FUCKIN DOORS,,,,NOW.."......they finally did ...it happened all so fast...but I managed to shake Tony's hand and thank him for his humanity....(i hope thats his name...he had long blond hair with a little goatee facial hair)....thanx again...

I watched the rest of the song and it was over...wow....the tambourine is still intact after the scuffle too..

Well thats it for now...I have to work tonight so won't be attending....but I'll be there on Sunday...

The show in Ventura, quite honestly, started off a little shaky. I think it might have taken the audience a song or two to adjust to such a huge presence and sound in such a small space, but certainly that's what we'd all been wanting from this show. We got it, in huge relentless waves of energy and passion from the performers. Certainly they knew that it was a smaller house and a smaller crowd, but somehow that made the experience that much bigger.
