The Cult - House Of Blues, Dec 19/2001

Opening Band: Like Hell
The tour finished in fine form Wednesday night in Chicago. Despite the fact that they were at the last stop on a lengthy, gruelling tour, the band was in fine form. The set list was the same (I think) as it has been lately (I'm thrilled that they added Sun King to the encore, although I really missed Nirvana). And everything from BG&E sounds amazing live. It really is a remarkable album. The place was absolutely packed, and the crowd was REALLY into it (mucho moshing down in front). Highlights for me were True Believers and Rise. Ian wasn't very talkative, but there were no flare ups at all from the band, who really gave their all. This was the 7th time I've seen them, and each time seems to be better than the last. 2001 was quite a year for Cult fans -- I'm certainly looking forward to great things from the band in the future as well.
