The Cult - Alltel Arena, Dec 7/2001
Little Rock, Arkansas, Alltel Arena
Opened for: Aerosmith
The band was great, the crowd was not. The Cult opened for Aerosmith and most of the audience was there for the latter. It showed, but I did not let it dampen me. They opened with a song that I did not know, but followed with Lil' Devil. They did Peace Dog, Wild Flower, Fire Woman, She Sells Sanctuary, and then some guy turned to me and said "When are they going to play their hit?" Anyway, I was the only person in a 50 person radius dancing and standing and singing the whole time. Billy saw me, cause I was on the same side of the stage as him, and after about the third song, he looked at me and smiled really big...cause I had been grinning ear to ear all night. I love the cult and this was my firs time to ever see them. Ian kept telling the people in the front row that they were too weak to be sitting there, I have to agree!! (They were all sitting there, minus about 10) Right before the end of the show, Ian looked at my side of the stage (for the first time all night) and I waved and smiled and he put his arm out and waved right to me. It was the highlight! I hope The Cult does not have a tainted view of Arkansas fans at this point...we love you, but we seemed to have been overrun with Aeromith fans.!!! Please come back though! I enjoyed my first show and I can't wait to see them again.
