The opening band was Flying Tiger, a three piece band that wasn't bad. They came on around 7:45 and played about 45 minutes to a half full house. I was hoping that the place would fill up and it did. I was hanging around the backstage area when I met a lady and her husband who had passes. I started talking to them and she said that she was handling the bands domestic and international flights. She was kind enough to give me a backstage pass and I was directly behind the mixing board (behind Billy Duffy) when the Cult took the stage. By now the house was full and the crowds energy was great. When the crowd is on, the band is on and they played a blistering set. The setlist was the same as has been posted, but they added My Bridges Burn (I believe) in the middle of the set. I have seen the Cult seven times (dating back to the Love tour) and this was the most energetic I have ever seen Ian. After the show, all but Billy Duffy came around and signed autographs. I got my Love vinyl signed by all as well as many cd's and my Electric insert.

Ian was in a great mood and talking to fans about any subject presented. He even pointed out his boy who was trying to ride a skateboard. All in all, a great show and a great experience. Hopefully people will keep coming out to see them and they will tour and make albums for years to come.

Last night I was lucky enough to attend The Cult concert in Dallas, Texas. As posted on this website the two opening acts that were first scheduled are now off the tour so a band by the name of the Flying Tigers opened up. They are newly signed to the Atlantic label and do not have a disc out right now but they did a good job of warming the crowd up before The Cult took the stage.

The Cult took the stage about 9:15pm, opening with Rise which quickly drew everyone out of their seats. From that point on through the entire hour and a half set they tore through songs from, "Love","Electric", "Sonic Temple" & of course "Beyond Good And Evil". Ian, Billy, and Matt were as good as any of the other three times of have seen them live since 1990. The only disappointing part of the show was that they did not play any song their self titled album or from "Ceremony". They closed the show with War, Nirvana and Love Removal Machine which brought the crowd to a boiling point before heading home. Overall, the show was excellent and I recommend to everyone to if at all possible catch The Cult this time out because it will be one of the best shows you will ever see.

What a show last night at the Bronco Bowl in Dallas! This was my second time to see the band. My first time was when they played the Bronco Bowl in '99. I've got to say that the Cult's performance tonight blew away my expectations completely. I know there has been some on/off discussion on Ian's lyrics and the band's performance but I was blown away tonight. Part of that may have been that I was on the floor, right behind the rail in front of Billy D. and in a spot that Ian frequently chose to run over to and dance at. As usual, they opened with Rise and finished with Love Removal Machine with the setlist being nearly the same as a lot of the other shows. They did, though, throw in My Bridges Burn which Ian said is only the second time they've played it live, so that was a real treat for the crowd. The crowd was a little slow at first. Right after Rise, Ian said "That's it. Good night!" and headed off stage. After that, the crowd started to get a little more active. Ian didn't stay disappointed it seemed, which is always good. It looked like there may have been some technical difficulty with Billy D.'s monitors. Occasionally he would make an upset face and walk over to another monitor and the crew did change one out before the encore.

Besides the show itself, I had some personal high points. I did catch a Duffy pick at the end of the show and I got autographs from everyone but Billy D. I know his autograph has been tough to get lately! Matt came out to the gate three different times before and after the show. Billy M. was very gracious and signed a lot of autographs for the group and Ian came OUTSIDE of the gate and hung out with the crowd, signing autographs, taking pics, and discussing the music. It was an awesome experience getting to meet the guys. It was even more awesome driving home with my personal Fender guitar covered in autographs (It WILL NOT end up on eBay). The last cool part came really late at around 1:00 in the morning when a group of about 7 of us were still hanging out hoping for a last autograph and Matt came back out to the gate and just talked to us for about 15 minutes. I've got to say that the band was very gracious for spending time with the crowd. Awesome night!

I just got back from "Big D" and the whole experience was a BLAST!!! I've seen The Cult 3 times and this was definitely the best!!! Ian did have to get the crowd off their asses at first, but everything was OK after that. My sister, girlfriend, and I drove down from Oklahoma and we weren't disappointed. I don't have any complaints about the setlist, I just wanted to hear them play live again. After the show, we got to meet Matt and Ian, and they were very gracious and my sister was going "buggnutts". We need more rock stars like them. The Cult has always been special to the Indians in Oklahoma!!!!!!Thanks for the "BLAST"

The Bronco Bowl ­ what an awesome venue...and we’ve sold it out!! It’s a good feeling, as we arrive and do the photosession with the magazine from England, that we have a sold out show to play later on. Ian takes his kids to see the new Planet of the Apes movie, and I spend the rest of the night threatening them with terrible torture if they tell me the ending!! I’m off to see it in Houston. Ian’s youngest, Che, is getting really good on the skateboard and spends all day and all night scooting around the parking lots of all the venues. And he’s six years old!!!

The show itself is just fantastic. As the drop falls and we kick into Rise, I look around at over three thousand people going crazy, and my skin crawls with the emotion of it all. I love playing shows like this. The Saint kicks ass, Fire Woman starts the crowd surfing, and Wild Flower just sends everyone, including us, over the edge. Thank you, Dallas, for a memorable evening. I, for one, can’t wait to return. Hours after we come offstage, and all the autographs are signed, and the after show "festivities" are done, we head off on an overnight drive to Houston.
