The Cult - Tradewinds, Jul 13/2001
Tradewinds, Sea Bright, New Jersey
Opening Band: Lennon
Just Saw The boys at the Tradewinds in Sea Bright, NJ, moved from the Asbury Park Convention Center. They Kicked ASS! This was my 4th Cult show, and the best yet since it was the first in a small venue. The opening band was Lennon, who were a good reason to go and have a few Tanq and Tonics while waiting for the Cult. Once the Cult took the stage, the place was packed, and it warmed my heart to see such enthusiasm from start to finish. I have been a huge fan for a long time, and was wondering what kind of welcome they were going to get. Well, the place was rocking, and even the new stuff sounded great live, and the fans responded well. I think even Ian was surprised, as he said this "was cool", and smiled alot. And no lie, I saw Duffy smile TWICE, I swear! The set list hasn't changed, which is fine with me, as the classics sounded great, and of course She Sells Sanctuary was a religious experience. Ian actually gave away a tambourine during Nirvana, which also kicked ass. Awsome show, LONG LIVE THE CULT!!!!
