Just got home from the show. Less than two hours have gone bye. What an incredible show. Ian came out with a blue bandana on his forehead. Kind of looked like Mike from Suicidal Tendencies. Low rider Ian!!! Drooped down just low enough to cover half of his eyes. The crowd was exeptionally energized. Ian said "It's nice to play for some people that know what the music is all about". There was an intense roar from the crowd after every song. And the band fed off of this. I thought maybe it was just me and my buzz. But at one point Ian just looked at the crowd and repeated three times, "intense...intense.....fucking intense" I have been to lots of rock shows. this one was special. Because the crowd was so intense. They played the usual set. Lots of people knew the new stuff. I was suprised to hear the crowd singing "I shot the sun". Folks in Salt lake know the new tunes!! Ian said it best. He called out the letters "C-U-L-T, where the hits just keep coming". I can't find the words to describe the energy the crowd was feeding to the band. It was indeed a special show. At one point Ian encourged the cowd to "make security work for their money." Told one security guard "easy Mr. muscles, Muscles require brains" (Refering to a fan being escorted off the stage by security goons). And right before the last encore. (Love Removal Machine) Ian said "one more last intense piece of music for you..God damn it!!" as he slamed the stage with his microphone stand. The place went fucking nuts. Monster Magnet kicked ass also. (everyone hold both middle fingers in the air.." I'm never gonna work another day in my life") Stabbing Westward was better than the last time I saw them. Perhaps a several days on the road with some seasoned veterans taught them something. Perhaps some fear & loathing in Vegas clued them in. They were not such posers this time. Greasy, dirty & very rock and roll. one great show tonight. peace out....

The show in Salt Lake City was a constant flow of energy between the band and the crowd. Both seemed to connect with each other and that made for an excellent performance. I saw the show at the House of Blues in Las Vegas the Friday before, and there was really no comparison between the two. It's amazing how the band really feeds off the energy in the audience. Standouts for me were War, Breathe, Nirvana, The Witch, and Love Removal Machine. Ian welcomed stage divers up and greeted them with high fives before they were escorted off by the goons, saying, "See, it is possible if you try hard enough." It was a very memorable show and the new songs all sound great.

The concert was incredible. My ears rang for three days. It was the best concert I have been to in years. Rock On Cult
