I'm fairly certain the setlist was - Lil' Devil, Peace Dog, Rain, In The Clouds, Rise, The Witch, Wild Flower, Breathe, The Saint, Fire Woman, She Sells Sanctuary, Love Removal Machine alas, no Encore. The Cult played as part of "Big Day Out", a local radio stations promotional concert. Playing were - Smartbomb, Lifehouse, Everlast, Our Lady Peace, The Cult, and Live. Early date in the season for this venue, an outdoor shed type arena - temperature was cool and there was a little rain. This was the "first time seeing The Cult" for many of the (several thousand I'd guess) in attendance as shown by the lack of participation, and show of hands when Ian asked the question of the audience, during The Cult's set. The band sounded particularly strong during The Witch, and Breathe, and The Saint. It seemed that most of the crowd was there for other bands, and there was no encore, deservedly - as me and a few others can only yell so loud. The other bands were mildly entertaining, with "Our Lady Peace" being my personal favorite of the evening.

Hey, Last night i took the 4 hour journey to Albany, NY to catch the Cult at the Bid Day Out. This was quite a seen. The bands included Smartbomb, Lifehouse, Everlast, Our Lady Peace, and Live, and obviously, The Cult. The boys took the stage after a whiny and bad sounding Our Lady Peace, and before the closing act Live (which I did not stick around for). Of course there were a few people only there to see the Cult while , the rest were young teenie boppers (which Ian kept referring to as Little Rockers). As soon as they hit the stage you could tell that these kids had no idea what they were hearing. "I hope we didn't scare you or hurt your ears Little Rockers" , laughed Ian. By far The Cult were the best band of the day... not only because I am biased, but the sound was much better. The band looked incredible and intense!!! Billy Morrisson was a fine addition to the band..he fits in well. Anyhow, to end the rambling...The Cult are back!!!!! Look out world!!!

I make this one short as I went on and on about the Montreal show. The show in Saratoga was a great show. Saratoga Performing Arts Centre (www.spac.org) is an incredible place to see any show. It is an amphitheatre cut into a hill side with sprawling park-like grounds around it. This show was called Big Day Out and it featured: Lifehouse, Everlast, Our Lady Peace, The Cult and Live (who has the headline? Weird choice I thought) I was there to see the Cult and the Cult delivered the goods. The sound was studio perfect and they played all the hits. Exact order of songs was (I found the play list under the sound board-nice souvenier) Lil' Devil, Peace Dog, Rain, In The Clouds, Rise, Sweet Soul Sister, The Witch, Wild Flower, Breathe, The Saint, Fire Woman, She Sells Sanctuary and Love Removal Machine (encore). It was a younger crowd and about half the audience was into the other half just sat there terrified. This frustrated Ian a little bit and he taunted the crowd a bit. "do you want a spectacle? Well you fucking got it" He even told the crowd to "get off their fucking asses" I thought the girl next to me was going to start crying. By the end of the show everybody was standing and loving it.
