saw Matt last thursday night... :o) they went to The Roxy here and hanged out... also, they played 6 songs... it was a GREAT show!! (for more than 600 people) I talked to Matt and he's an awesome guy! he's so damn cool! :o)

Ian and Billy weren't in a good mood (I guess) ... they weren't too friendly and didn't want fans to take pics (?) ...

First off, many thanks to Paola (Glitter) for providing me with all the info about the Roxy show and directions to arrive there (I'm from Montevideo, across the Rio de la Plata).

After waiting for an hour outside the Roxy I got in around 1.30 AM. The show started a little after 2.00.

It was a short but very powerful set only for the fans. I had never seen such a wild mosh pit, especially at the end during Love Removal Machine. I even thought I was going to fall down.

I was with my sister who is very skinny and she's still with her arms all bruised! (We thought about not being at the very front again at Obras but we ended up in the second row just in front of Billy ...and we don't regret that at all.)

I got the impression that Billy was not very much into the Roxy show, he was very serious. When people requested Revolution Ian looked at him and asked him what he thought about it and he didn't move...( Revolution was asked again at Obras but they didn't play it either :-(

A little before it was over, Ian called Mike to translate into Spanish what he wanted to say: that they were playing only two more songs but were going to play many more the day after and that it was very late (3 AM) and they had to sleep...

All in all, a great night, I never thought i was ever going to see them perform again so close to me in such an intimate place.

It was a hot night when I arrived early by car at the Roxy. We knew the Cult were having dinner there with some folks from local radios an record companies and it was rumored that they could play there. Time pased and while Ian played pool alone, and Billy rested after a confortable dinner surounded by a bunch of lovely girls. The only one in the mood was Matt. He signed outografs and was always available for the lucky fans like me who could make it inside. As I said time passed and there wasn't an atmosphere as for a show, the rumors were there but a close look at the stage would dissipate any posibility of the Cult playing there, the materials weren't theirs etc. But after a while they decided they would play if we could probide them certian materials such as proper guitars les pauls and some zildjians. I say we because I was there thanks to a friend who is in charge of the stage there at the Roxy, the problem was that we did not have the materials required and it was 1 O'clock in the morning. Luckily I had the car and some one friend of mine arrived. He plays at a local Rock band and along with him we left the place in order to find the guitars and the zildjians. I don't want to bore you any longer so I shall tell you that the sound was good for the place (it took them a while to arange all the materials and sound as the Cult should) but finaly they made it on stage and played a lot of Electric stuff. We were petrified, they were great and the crowd fucking crazy. Finally we wanted Revolution but Billy didn't so they didn't play it. They left promising more for the following day at Obras Sanitarias Stadium. But well that is another story. I got the recorded video of Obras night.
