It was AWESOME! They're definitely back. Ian looks like he is on the wagon. He's got a lot of energy. They played all the good ones except my favorite (i.e. Sun King). They also have added another guitar who also sings. They sound good! By the way, Ian has shaved his head! THEY ROCKED IT!

After meeting up for dinner and a $28.00 pitcher of margaritas, the ubiquitous and yes Mike, vivacious Nancy and I made our way to the show. We waited for an hour in the lobby for them to open the concert hall and then another hour and a half for U.P.O. to start. U.P.O.‘s set was short which was fine by me. The only thing that made it bearable I think was the contact high I got from the people next to us passing the doochie upon the left hand side.

A remix of Rush’s Tom Sawyer played as the lights dimmed and in Cult Rising fashion, the band came on and roared into Lil’ Devil. The set was long and full of a true Cult fan’s favorites including Horse Nation, Spirtiwalker, Nirvana and Rain. If the new song Breathe is any indication of the new album we are in for quite a treat as well.

The shedding of the locks seemed to energize Ian. Coming out in tennis shoes and a hooded vest that he kept on most of the show, he pounded the tambourine with renewed vigor. Ian was all over the stage jumping, spinning and doing quite a few Tae Kwan Do moves, even a finely executed jump front kick to the back of Billy’s head that didn’t connect of course. It was also nice to see Ian doing a bit of the old dancing from the She Sells Sanctuary video. He was having a good time and joking with all the members including trying to pull Dimkich’s pants down a couple of times. The others were flawless. Billy donned orange sunglasses and graced the stage armed with "the Gretsch" for some of the songs.

Afterward we milled around the bus and watched Matt and Ian sign autographs and take pictures. Another excellent show in the continuing Cult concert epic.
