Opening Band: The Cliks

We drove from the Okanagan got a hotel. I ve seen The Cult 5 times in the past the last time was Feb.14, 1995. . This was going to be my girlfriends first time. After checking in we walked to arena to have a look and see tour buses....then back to hotel, didn't see the boys this time.

After room service we went back to arena, walked to buses but the boys were practicing (you could hear them) I was wearing shorts so we opted cause it was colder out to get in line and get in. After getting in we bought our sweat shirts tour poster and found seats and girlfriend grabbed a beer. I wanted to stay stone cold sober for show.

The arena 6-7000 seater and about half full when The Cult came on. The Cult where in great form, Ian's voice was brilliant through out entire performance. The band was very animated, the crowd was the best and the band fed off it. You can see it in Billy' s smile the most and he plays to enthusiasm, he was digg'n it, he played the hell out of his guitars. The crowd responded to everything with great enthusiam, and the band did like wise. In any footage i've seen of the band i've never seen Mike move around so much and be as entertaining as he was this night. You can tell Chris like's is bass intro's. John's a great drummer...the whole band is very tight.

Did I mention Ian's voice, honestly I couldn't believe how good it sounded .....and same with band they sounded brilliant. Ian took his sanctaury video stance and his feet never stopped. I almost shit when they broke into Horse Nation and then followed with Spirit Walker and I could believe how good they sounded. If I never get a chance to see them again the memories of them playing those 2 songs will live on forever. I never saw the Beyond Good and Evil tour so until you actually see them play Rise as they did there's no describing how good that song is live. Same with the 3 new songs they played and the crowd just loved every moment of everything ..no lulls in enthusiasm.

You know what it's like when you jump out of aplane and you get to the bottom and have a beer? your on such ahigh it's all it takes to get you off well that's what I did after show so working out set list is going to take abit..listening to more of the Cult afterwords didn't help much for remembering all songs and in order...sorry no set list yet. I remember most of the songs and in order but I didn't bring a pen and paper if you know what I mean. First song Sanctuary, then Rain, Electric Ocean, revolution......

The show couldn't of been any better from all angles but my seats. After show we went out back to try get some signatures. On the pink cover of Born Into This I got all the band members to sign, but it was a bit of await to get Ian and Billy's and I was wearing shorts and....it started snowing lol.....but I waited with girlfriend. Chris was pleased to be signing work he contributed to. I asked John how the pg show was he said it was good, he was more concerned if this show was loud enough and of course it was. Waiting, waiting ,waiting...then Ian and Billy came out, and Billy was just as animated after the show as during and was all to happy to sign our stuff, he's a real card. I managed to get Ian and Billy to also sign my unopened limited edition of Born Into This still in wrap as well as the regular version. I also got to get my picture with Ian. The other version I wrote was much more elaborate but things happen....I'll probably edit and add once I get set list nailed down.
