Montreal, Quebec, Bell Centre

Headlining, opening bands: Controller Controller, Bangkok Five

u-n-b-e-l-e-i-v-a-b-l-e that is the only way I can describe the show at the Bell Centre. Ian and Billy were simply on fire along with the rest of the guys. They played Spiritwalker and The Phoenix which I haven't heard live since the 92 show at the Forum. Before Electric Ocean, Ian stated "This next song was actually recorded in Quebec" which sent the crowd wild as they ripped through it with Duffy's powerful riffs and Astbury's howling voice. They played for about an hour and forty five and ended the show with the encore She Sells Sanctuary. Ian said on MTV that an album will be in the works later in the year. I hope so because The Cult in Montreal every 5 five years is just too long to wait.......KEEP ON ROCKIN BOYS!!!!!!

I recently had the most amazing experience of my life! On Saturday, May 27, 2006 I had the golden tickets to finally see The Cult at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

As expected the show was beyond incredible, Ian performed with such talent and energy that he should be considered a "god"!!! Billy also had the crowd of thousands on their feet for the entire show!

I was given the opportunity to be in front of the stage, courtesy of some wonderful guy handing out Pit Passes. As if that was not enough of a gift, the band's manager approached me in the crowd and presented me with a green bracelet stating that Mike had personally invited me to the after party! How much more amazing can this night get?! I asked myself.

Once we got into the party, we were graced with the presence of Billy, Mike, and the opening act, Bangkok 5. While it was totally awesome to have drinks made for me by actual members of The Cult , it was slightly disappointing that Ian was nowhere to be found. Apparently he left immediately after the show. I have to add that these guys are perfect gentlemen that expressed genuine interest in their guests, not once leaving anyone out of the fun. It was a real social gathering of the best kind.

A few of us were then invited to join the band at a club on St. Laurent Street, however I declined the offer.

All in all, the experience was amazing, these guys are so incredibly down to earth..........the memory will forever be embedded in my heart.............

A devoted Cult fan,

Saw the show in Montreal..the band sounded great, Ian was off on a few tunes though. Overall they were awesome to me! They opened with Lil Devil.. They actually played a lot off the Electric album. The place went nuts on Love Removal Machine. Other songs Rise, Wonderland, Fire Woman, The Pheonix, Rain, Electric Ocean.. Billy and Ian came out for Edie (Ciao Baby), that sounded great.. Billy Duffy can really jam.. They ended with Sanctuary. Overall on a scale from 1 to 10,they were and 8. Anyway had great time. I would go see them in a heartbeat again.. Do u know if there are any recordings of Ian with Riders of the Storm.. let me know if u could.. thanks have a great day!
