House Of Blues, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Opening Band: Lennon

Another incredible performance! That may sound like a typical statement you read from a Cult website. The thing is, in this horrible time for music, who can really say that the band they saw truly kicked their ass? Limp Biscuit, Korn, and all the bands who continue to recite nursery rhymes in their songs, have absolutely no clue about music that means something and touches people in their hearts and minds and not directly to their crotch. Not that The Cult's music isn't sexy as hell, it's just coming from more of a spiritual plain than their so called "Peers". Whatever the case, the show did kick ass, they still rule live, and damn, if they don't keep getting better! I am a Monster Magnet fan, and when I heard they weren't going to be with the boys, it did disappoint me a bit, but I knew, as me and my friend drove 5 hours to the show, that I wasn't going to be that disappointed. Seeing the band several times over the years, starting with the Electric tour, you get a real sense of satisfaction seeing them kick ass 15 years later. It's even more of a tribute when you think about who is still around kicking ass from around that time. I would have to say that No One comes to mind. And to put out an incredible CD that is valid with eveything today is simply amazing. Anyway, they were fantastic! The new songs stood beside the classics boldly. Rise kicked off the blistering almost 2 hour set, with unrelenting fervor. Lil' Devil seemed especially fresh. The crowd was definitely a "Cult Crowd" compared to the lame radio show crowds that inhabit concert venues during the summer. Seeing one of the best bands ever sharing the stage with "Crazy-flavor-of-the-month-Disturbed-Flying-Korn-Monkees" is an insult to the band and to the fans, but I understand it's a necessary evil to break a record. The rest of the set was classic Cult with 5 new ones thrown in. Ian vocals were very much in focus and unrelenting. Billy's guitar seemed clear and ferocious. Do not miss them on this tour! If you miss it, you'll never know the excitement of hearing and seeing real rock & roll that touches more than your senses!

Absolutely great show! They opened with Rise, In The Clouds, and Lil' Devil. We got five new songs off the new album. Rise of course, War, The Saint, Take The Power, and Breathe. That was a treat. They played Edie (Ciao Baby) which I hadn't heard in a while. They played Nirvana at the Midtown Music Festival, which got dropped at the Myrtle Beach show. I would have liked to have heard that again. The five new songs was a bonus, though. A+++

I got there really early and it seemed like it took forever for "the real show" to start but when they came out and started with Rise the crowd went wild everything was electric and it stayed that way from beginning to end. I was Front and center to the stage so I had the best place in the house although it got a little rough right at the end of the show. After the show I got the best surprise, I met the guys and got autographs and shook hands. That is something that I will never forget!!!!!
